NMBAQC is continuously surveying external quality control gaps in monitoring needs of competent monitoring agencies. 

Environmental DNA (eDNA) is an emerging sampling tool for marine science which provides a useful platform to monitor and measure biodiversity, and is one component being considered to fall under the umbrella of the NMBAQC scheme in the near future.
